Don't Wait [5:48]  lyrics
Copyright E.K.G. Publishing 2010 Eric Knudson, Guitar Glenn Malicki, Bass Mark Lawrence, Drums T. Wayne, Keys This song was part of an RCA Demo requested by RCA Nashville President Joe Galante. RCA sent an agent to see us perform, who called Joe and said we should be signed immediately. Unfortunately they had to pass due to the lack of marketability of this style of music in 1999-2000. “It just doesn’t fit on the radio guys. It would work on a classic rock station, but your not known. It doesn’t fit the format on a modern station either. “ Recorded November 1999 on a Fostex Hard Drive Recorder Written, Engineered and Produced by Eric Knudson The RCA Agent was Scott Michaels who I am still good friends with.

Bonded Souls [6:03]  lyrics
Inspired by a poem written by my close friend Cindy Johnston. Cindy and I met when we were both going thru Cancer. She had breast Cancer and I had Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She passed away August 16th 2007. It was the first time I was a pallbearer. I’m glad she is gone and her pain is over. She has visited me a few times to let me know “ It’s All 8’s baby! “ Eric Knudson, Guitar Glenn Malicki, Bass Mark Lawrence, Drums T. Little Dittie For Ron White [4:33]  lyrics
Little Dittie For Ron White Jerry Flores; Drums Eric Knudson; Guitars, Bass Comic Ron White filmed a comedy stand up concert in Seattle and called it “Behavioral Problems“. He wanted to use Stevie Ray Vaughan’s ‘Could Stand The Weather’ song for this production, but the owner of Stevie’s music library stated they wanted $50,000 for the licensing of the song. He and Alex Reymundo have been friends for over 20 years meeting at The Funny Bone in Arlington Texas where Alex was the bartender and Ron performed on amateur night. They now tour together. After refusing the $50k quote, Ron asked Alex if “ That guy that did your music for Hick-Spanic would be able to get some music for him, and how quickly can he get it done? I got the call at a time where I was going to Skyline Studio’s in Deep Ellum to record and produce SIN SERUM. The drum tracks were to be recorded here, and then I would set my stuff up at the bands rehearsal space to finish it out. After the drum tracks for Sin Serum were finished, I grabbed my bass guitar and my Roland Microcube and joined drummer Jerry Flores in the main room to record. I told Jerry ‘It opens with a few accents, and we will let them breath a bit, between each one. Then I will start a riff, and just follow me and lets just jamn with a lot of feel “ Prior to hitting the record button, Josh the Skyline Studio Engineer walked into the main room and said, “ What’s this little dittie called? “ Which I responded “ That will work. …Lets call it Little Dittie “ lol Jerry and I went thru the accents at the beginning, and they were too close together, so I stopped and said, “ Let them breath just a little bit longer “. The first full-length take of this song was the final and only full-length recording we did. The magic of the first take is what your hearing! Amazing drumming. I then took the drum tracks home to my studio where I re-recorded the bass track, and added the rhythm guitar track. I then realized this tune really needed a Wah Wah Pedal and I don’t own one. I contacted Ricky Lee who had one that needed repair. He said, “ If you fix it, it’s yours “ I fixed it. Haha I set my guitar, the wah wah pedal, the recording gear up so that when I was ready to record, all I had to do with hit the button and go for it. From There I decided it was best to get expanded. So I went out, had a few beers and got stoned. The lead guitar is my one-take from start to finish…. High as a kite haha!! How quickly was this recorded and in Ron White’s ears for him to decide to use it or not? Four days !! Four days after I got the call, the song was complete and sent to him. He actually listened to it on Alex’ IPOD while sitting in Houston at a Whataburger. Behavioral Problems premiered on Comedy Central and had 3.3 Million viewers. A Comedy Central Record

Rapidisimo For Alex Reymundo [1:41]  lyrics
Rapidisimo I got a call around 10:00pm on a Saturday night from my good friend and comic Alex Reymundo. He said “ He man what are you doing next weekend? “ I responded with “ Hell I dunno why? “ Alex stated he was filming a comedy concert in New Mexico and wants to have me play a Spanish style hard rock/metal guitar piece and be on stage in the opening. Of course I said well hell lets do this. He said he hasn’t spoken with the other Executive Producers about it yet (the money guys) but was checking to see if I could make it. I called Alex Sunday afternoon around 5pm. In the conversation he said “ How long with it take you get me something for them to hear?” I said “ Gimme an email and I will send it to you now “ I stayed up all night and recorded the intro we called Rapidisimo. Which is Spanish for fast as fuck or something like that…I don’t speak Spanish so I don’t know for sure! Haha I sent it in an email to Scott Montoya. Alex tells me he was in the room with Scott when they heard the intro and they both flipped out. Needless to say I flew to New Mexico and filmed Hick-Spanic the next weekend. It was an amazing experience, which I have a bevy of stories I could tell. After I returned home I recorded more music for the credit roll, Hick Spanic. The ALMA AWARD Alex’ Hick-Spanic tied for Comedy Of The Year with George Lopez. That kind of visibility pushed Alex’ career to another level where he as been told by many celebrities that he is their favorite comic. He would call me late at night and tell me People like Eva Longoria and Tony Parker would say “ I loved the show…. who the hell is that kick ass guitar player ?? “ LOL This recording is the actual audio of the opening scene of HICK SPANIC Eric Knudson; All instruments

Hick-Spanic [4:24]  lyrics
Hick Spanic Hick Spanic is the credit roll music for the Alex Reymundo comedy concert of the same name. After filming in New Mexico I went home and decided to record a tune with my Spanish guitar, given to me by a great friend Steve Jones. I had recently obtained the recording software Sonar Producer 5 made by Cakewalk. This was the first song I ever recorded using it. I set with the Spanish guitar, no metronome, just hit the record button and played. It was meant to be an idea, which I would perfect later. I borrowed the percussion instruments from Sharon Oefinger, another good friend. I kept adding more stuff like the castanets, tambourine, bass guitar, etc. My friend and guitar tech Dennis Kelley had brought me a very rare Gibson XPL that he hot-rodded with better pickups, electronics, and his signature sound work. The lead guitar part on this song is a one-take from start to finish. I was stoned and was just jacking around yet again, thinking I would do a better job later. At the time I recorded this, I was in the band Phantom-X and we rehearsed at my place. I played this for each member of the band, and they all said “ It’s killer I would change anything “. Thanx to them, I left it alone. I had emailed it to Alex with the intent of it being in the credit roll. He said, “ We already have a credit roll “. I retorted with “ Well dude, you might …but at least do me a favor, and give this a listen before you decide on the final music “. He did, and called me four hours later with a bit of a buzz saying “ I love you man ! It’s perfect “ The Gibson XPL is now owned by long time friend and fellow musician Dave Mack, who currently plays in the band SCRAP IRON.

Dec8th Together [5:38]  lyrics
Dec8th Together After watching the movie ‘Across The Universe’ and hearing Joe Cocker do a really cool version of Come Together, I got the idea that I would do a really heavy version of this song. I thought about it, and recalled that two prominent musicians were shot by a crazed asshole with a gun on the same day, Dec 8th, twenty-four years apart. So this tune became my tribute to both musicians. One, the writer of this song from England, the other an amazing metal guitarists from Arlington Texas Funny thing about this recording, all rhythm guitars and bass guitar tracks were recorded on a Roland Micro Cube. If you don’t know what that is, its a little practice amp that costs about $120, and is portable because it’s battery powered. Just goes to show you, it’s now how big and powerful it is, but what you can do with it! The guitar solo is the gear I normally use. Long time friend Ernie Compton recorded me on his Ludwig John Bonham drum set. All instruments and vocals by Eric Knudson

TANSTAAFL [3:12]  lyrics
TANSTAAFL Pronounced ‘ Tawn-Staw-Ful “ …yeah there is a major history behind this word, to Include a novel by some dude…. haha …yeah I’m not totally sure who. Guitars and vocals are me….. and NO ! It’s not a girl singing back up vocals, it’s me. lol The sound clips are all friends. Alex Reymundo, Chef Dave, Donny, Lisa, Sean, Woody, Kellie, Cat, me, the train that runs East and West thru town, and Dillon who drank Absinthe with me for the first time. We were in my back yard when he told me how the drink affected him (the ending sound clip). Well, he was in for more than he figured….hahaha …..He woke up in the fetal position, on the floor, in the corner of my bedroom, with a hell of a “ Holy shit how did I get here? “ the next morning. His buddy had fallen out of a chair in the living room and there he slept, in the same place he fell. Lucky for him it was a low-to-the-ground video chair !! I will not give any more details of what this tune means to me. It’s a part of my life where the counter culture actually exists. It can’t be invaded by those who just don’t, and won’t understand. It’s a personal thing. Thanx for understanding ! Haha

Deja Vu [5:53]  lyrics
Eric Knudson; guitars and vocals This song was inspired from growing up in the Fort Worth/ Dallas area. KZEW was a cult type radio station that had the Kingbiskit Flower Hour, and some of the best DJ’s ever. On the weekends it was normal to meet up with friends at the midnight movies. Typically it was Pink Floyd’s The Wall, Led Zeppelin’s Song Remains The Same, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was like going to a concert in every aspect of moods and smells.

Cheeseburgers and Weed [6:24]  lyrics
The Story: I had moved my recording gear into a bands rehearsal place to record them. Once it got too late to record and they left, I had a bit of a buzz and decided I would Turn a microphone on, hit record and see what happens. I did the vocals and the rhythm guitar first. No lyrics, nothing written, just went with it to see what I might sing about, and this is what it was. I then added the bass, drums, and the second guitar within 30 minutes. Yes it’s pretty “loose”, but so was I !! The hidden track that follows, …..Well I’m riding with Woody …yeah THAT Woody ….who drives his car like a boat…always weaving. We passed a cop (at 2:15am) who pulled a U and started after us. So I started yelping from the back seat to take a right and we would stop at a friend’s house. Well, we had no idea there was a domestic disturbance going on there at the time, and pulled up with two more cop cars sitting there watching us. THE NEST Turns out my friend was made to leave his own home. I managed to talk the female into letting us stay there just long enough for the police to leave so we didn’t get busted for being trashed. Once I got home I called him. Turned my phone on speaker, hit the record button, and had a guitar in my hand. The recording is the conversation as it’s happening. He mentions not wanting to be a part of writing a song about her, which I was going to call “Bleed Her Out” …little did he know, that he was writing the song at that very moment. He was sitting out in a field, very angry that he was made to leave. I put the two songs together in humor that the Cheeseburger tune is singing about Good feelings towards a girl, and Bleed Her Out is how she’s ruined his life long enough and wishing she was gone. Dynamics ! haha

Mississippi Mudd [11:30]  lyrics
Mississippi Mudd Recorded live at the Dallas House Of Blues during the employee talent show. I worked there for a while as a security guard. After becoming an employee and learning about the history of the company I was really inspired to write a song about it. I explain it in the song of course. Every room in the HOB, every bar, has a name that is usually after a well-known blues musician. A quilt club in New Orleans sews the stage curtain, and I found out that all of the HOB’s have a curtain from this club. When a new House Of Blues is built they go out to the crossroads of Mississippi and dig up a bucket of mud, and place it in the foundation under the stage, in honor of Robert Johnson. I was really intrigued when I read all this neat stuff. I also wondered why it was not public knowledge? So when the talent show presented itself, I wrote some lyrics wondering, if the people that make the House Of Blues are so into all this heritage stuff, why isn’t there a dessert on the menu called Mississippi Mudd ? It’s yummy. It was very suggestive …and to this date, they STILL have not put it on the menu. What’s up with that ? lol The song is a one time thru. Meaning we never rehearsed it, never played it but just this one time. I wrote lyrics, and told the band what key the song is in, and the format. We just went with it !! Now THAT’S Rock N Roll and Blues my friends! Be sure to listen at the end to hear my Daughter yelling out at me. Very heart warming.
